Privacy policy

Effective November 6, 2026

This policy explains what Eskara, Inc. ("Eskara," "we") collects when you use the Eskara app and eskara.ai, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version: we collect what you choose to tell us so we can give you styling advice. Photos are optional. Color analysis only runs when you ask. We don't sell your personal information. You can delete your account and its data at any time.

What we collect

Information you give us

Account: your email address and a password (stored by our authentication provider in hashed form).
Style profile: answers you choose to save, such as proportions and measurements, sizes by brand, colors and styles you like, stores you prefer or exclude, and budget. Every question is optional.
Photos: if you choose to add them, a portrait and up to three reference photos, used for color analysis and styling. Photos are never required to shop.
Saves and links: products and links you save, with details such as price, color and sizes.
Shopping requests: what you ask Eskara to find, for example "a winter skirt under $150."
Messages to us: anything you send to hello@eskara.ai or partners@eskara.ai.

Information collected automatically

Onboarding progress: the name of the step you reached, so we can see where people stop. It doesn't include your answers, measurements or photos.
Service logs: request identifiers, timestamps, IP address and device or browser type, used to run and secure the service. Logs don't contain your measurements, photos or conversation text.
Outbound clicks: when you follow a link to a retailer, the link may carry an identifier that lets the retailer's affiliate network credit Eskara. That identifier doesn't contain your name, email or profile.

eskara.ai doesn't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

How we use it

To provide the service: evaluate products against your profile, suggest outfits and swaps, and keep your saves.
To run color analysis on a portrait, only when you ask for it.
To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and enforce usage limits.
To understand, in aggregate, which parts of Eskara work and which don't.
To reply to you and send account emails such as confirmation and password reset.

We don't use your photos or profile to train AI models, and we don't sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Eskara, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

Supabase: database, authentication and photo storage (United States).
Railway: application hosting (United States).
OpenAI: processes a portrait when you request color analysis, and processes your shopping requests to find and describe products. We send only what the task needs. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data isn't used to train their models.
Product data and affiliate partners: receive search terms and click identifiers needed to show products and credit purchases. We don't include your measurements, photos or other profile details in these requests.
Email provider: sends account emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Retailers and purchases

Purchases happen on the retailer's own site. Whatever you share there (payment, address, order) is governed by the retailer's privacy policy, not this one. Eskara never sees your payment details.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account (Account → Delete account in the app), we delete your profile, photos, saves and account. Backups roll off within 30 days. Service logs are kept for a limited period for security.

Your choices and rights

Edit or remove any profile answer or photo at any time.
Decline or withdraw consent for color analysis.
Delete your account and its data from the app.
Ask for a copy of your data, or ask a question, at hello@eskara.ai.

Depending on where you live, including California, Washington and other US states, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or port your data and to appeal our decision. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever they live. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Health-related information. Some data you choose to add, such as body measurements and photos, may be considered consumer health or biometric data under laws like Washington's My Health My Data Act. We collect it only with your consent, use it only to provide styling advice, never sell it, and delete it when you ask. We don't create face templates or identify you from photos.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the account it belongs to, and photos are stored privately. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

Children

Eskara is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and for material changes notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
